Lions Led By Donkeys

Lions Led By Donkeys

Genre:

Comedy, History

Why You Should Listen:

History is dark and depressing and thought of as incredibly boring by a lot of people. Myself and my co-host Nick try to breathe life into the history of armed conflict by taking the piss out of some of the worst moments from throughout time. We also make some stops along the way to savage military movies. We are not historians, rather we are two nerds who have a deep love for the subject and want to spread it while hopefully making you laugh.

Who Should Listen:

Our podcast is aimed at anyone who enjoys comedy, history, and booze. Maybe we will find someone who enjoys all three! People who enjoy military history, movies, or video games and are curious about the true stories from throughout warfare. If you enjoy laughing with the hosts as we uncover some of the dumbest things people ever did in the field of combat.

Episode to Get Hooked on:

Probably our episode on Pavlov’s House and the Battle of Stalingrad.

On this episode of the Lions Led by Donkeys we talk about Sergeant Yakov Pavlov and his Soviet House of Death during the Battle of Stalingrad. Nick chugs Vodka to keep his horrible illness at bay long enough to record, we decide that the glorious Soviet Union would never lie in battle reports, and come to the conclusion that the Wermach was little more than Star Trek Red Shirts at this point of the war.
